The NYSRPA-PVF is a non-partisan political action committee (PAC) affiliated with the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association.  The purpose of the NYSRPA-PVF is to raise monies to support the candidacies of those who will defend and protect our rights in state and local elected office.  Every gun owner has a big stake in legislative activity in Albany.  This is just a small sampling of the issues before the state legislature:

• Renewable pistol licenses with mandatory proficiency training and marksmanship skills, mandatory legal education on firearms law, justifiable use of force, morality and judgment
  
• Discretionary authority of pistol licensing agents, arbitrary denial of licenses and arbitrary restrictions placed upon when and where firearms can be carried
  
• Prohibition of semi-automatic pistols and rifles which acceptable detachable magazines
  
• Prohibition on all new pistols by mandating unproven microstamping technology be included on all new pistols sold or transferred in the state
  
• Prohibition on keeping firearms readily available in the home for self-defense
  
• Strict liability for gun owners, sellers and manufacturers, holding gun owners and gun dealers liable for 3rd party criminal misuse
  
• Prohibition of common ammunition used for self-defense and hunting
  
• Prohibition of .50 caliber rifles and shotguns
